It seems that Bluetooth will not die in the next time. The developers of Bluetooth are working intensively on developing of this standard. The proof is a new specification called Bluetooth 2.1 EDR.
This specification don’t have those revolutionary changes like Bluetooth 2.0, but it has important security fixes, lower energy consumption and more simply procedure to coupling devices (Near Field Communication).

I have now a PDA with Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, but I don’t really need this speed. If I want to use Internet on my PDA than I use WiFi, if I want to copy big files I prefer to copy them on SD card with cardreader. OK, lower energy consumation is a good thing and security is important too, but other things are not really interesting.
I totally agree.
Thank you
Me too.
Bluetooth 2.1 EDR- important security fixes, lower energy consumption and more simply procedure to coupling devices. This are all the things which I was searching for long back.
Thank you .thanks a lot.
I found your blog via Google while searching for free internet security and your post regarding Smartphone Blog looks very interesting to me. I could not believe the amount of quality material on this site. The site is extremely eyecatching and pulls the reader straight it, the articles are great quality and are very professionally written. I have seen too many of these sites where it looks like they pay an 8 year old to do the writing – Not this one. Your site is easily the best that I have seen in a long while.
I am expecting improve in audio quality via stereo bluetooth headset with the launch of Bluetooth 2.1 EDR.
